Every miniature tells a story — preserving memory, atmosphere, and overlooked beauty in miniature form.

I’m Joao Coelho, a Portuguese miniature artist based in St Helens, Liverpool, England, creating handcrafted dioramas inspired by memory, forgotten places, and the quiet beauty often overlooked in everyday life.

My work began through a fascination with architectural facades — weathered shopfronts, abandoned buildings, and spaces shaped by time. Over the years, that passion has grown into detailed miniature artworks that preserve atmosphere, nostalgia, and personal stories in physical form.

Many of my pieces are inspired by real places, fragments of memory, and moments that might otherwise disappear. I’m especially drawn to buildings with character, imperfections, and histories hidden in plain sight.

Alongside original artworks, I also create bespoke commissioned pieces, helping people preserve meaningful places and memories through miniature form — whether that’s a childhood home, a favourite building, or a deeply personal space.

My work has been exhibited at venues including Liverpool Art Fair, dot-art Gallery, World of Glass, and Miniatura Show, and featured in publications and artist-led exhibitions across Merseyside.
